Sunees07 Awesome movie, really like it, It's worth money Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Joe V Average story. Actions are good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review rkrishna r Theatre watchable. Just a mass movie. Made as a mass entertainer, in that context it is a 100% watchable movie. Don't expect a string storyline etc bse it is not meant for that. Recommended Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review arvind s When you thought that everything is going fine; being a stellar year for Malayalam cinema (it still is though) and all that; there comes along the month of May with its hits and misses. Nadikar disappointed big time and now, Mammootty Kompany's Turbo starring the one & only Mammootty gives us one of Malayalam cinema's worst of the year.  Set in Idukki or so, Turbo Jose is known to pick fights. After one particular altercation, he kidnaps a girl from Thrissur because his friend claims to be in love with her. This kidnapping results in him fleeing town to Chennai, where he ends up locking horns with a criminal mastermind, Vetri. I usually struggle to concise the plot in the para above. But for Turbo it was easy peasy and it is because of how the movie plays out. It is a peak mid-2000s movie. What could one have expected from Monster filmmaker, Vysakh. Even Midhun Manuel Thomas seems to have lost the plot.  Mammootty returns as an avatar that you saw Vysakh introduce in his directorial debut (Pokkiri Raja). Though Jose isn't that flamboyant here, he still has moments of comic relief. The only saving grace of this film is Bindu Panicker, who plays Jose's mother. She is a die-hard Marvel fan and her dialogues seems to have received all the focus while this movie was in the writing phase.  The supporting cast is pathetic. I was excited for Raj B Shetty's Malayalam debut but I didn't notice enjoy it as much as he enjoyed shooting for it. His character, Vetri keeps saying how cringe situations are in the movie - he echoed the feelings of everyone who watched the film!  Turbo is ancient, a movie that should have released in the 2000s or better yet, never been released. I did not see this coming because with work that Mammootty & his production company have been doing. Turbo seems to be something that Aashirvad Cinemas would have produced.  Stay away, stay safe!
