Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall A goofy charm infuses this teen caper comedy-drama, playing on the characters' sparky personalities. Rated: 3/5 Jun 22, 2022 Full Review Julian Roman MovieWeb Turbo Cola is too easily described as a heist version of Clerks. The film dips with a few lulls but regains its footing for an interesting climax. Turbo Cola has an honest outcome that reflects life's awkward truths. Rated: 2.5/5 Jun 20, 2022 Full Review Tara McNamara Common Sense Media Turbo Cola may be a first: a comedy seemingly made as an homage to two "classics" that leaves viewers disappointed in all three films. It's best described as Clerks meets Ocean's 11, but those films captured lightning in a bottle. Rated: 2/5 Jun 14, 2022 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Turbo Cola uses charming characters and an engaging story to capture a unique period in time. A fun coming of age film that will take audiences back to 1999 whether they lived through it or not. Jun 13, 2022 Full Review Rob Aldam Backseat Mafia Takes us back to the late 1990s to create an engaging and amusing comedy drama Jun 13, 2022 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …a low-budget indie comedy/drama that punches well above its weight, maintaining moral tension right until the final moments… Rated: 4/5 Jun 13, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Erica D Funny and cute- story unfolds in an interesting way Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member 3.3 started really strong then faded during the second act Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/22 Full Review harris r A legitimately entirely amateur indie low budget film that is surprisingly very entertaining. When I say "legitimately entirely amateur", all cast and crew are all either newbs, and/or have very minimal experience in their fields, and that makes a good result great, and more appreciated. This is co-writer, producer, editor and director Luke Covert's first attempt at filmmaking, and wow, did he not disappoint. Then add that this low budget indie gem was practically perfectly directed and performed by cast I've never heard of, and the cinematography was spot on, with a bonus awesome soundtrack. The entire story was clever, well thought out and presented. If you're a millennial, or a parent of them, you'll relate to everything that happens in this film. The dreams, the plans, the maturity, the good or failing friendships, the sibling rivalry, the loyalty and let-downs - it's all in this film, and presented on a silver platter. Was it perfect? Nope, but darn close. The 94 min runtime was used effectively and the pacing was decent. The story was cohesive and flowed smoothly, although a few tweaks were needed here and there. Covert is certainly a filmmaker to keep an eye out on, because this little amateur production of his was stronger and more entertaining than some recent films from seasoned filmmakers I've seen lately. Mad props to the entire cast and crew. Intentional or not, it seems there's an opening for a Turbo Cola 2, so I hope that happens. A well deserved 7.5 rounded up to an 8/10 from me. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie hits me in all the feels. It was like a 2022 clerks but set in the looming year 2000 if that makes any sense. It brought me right back to 1999 and the great soundtrack made it even better. The characters are so relatable and overall it's a must see, funny in all the right ways I loved it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Austin had a big plan to move to New York with his girlfriend who received a scholarship to NYU. Being a gas station clerk, he didn't have the money to make his plan materialised. With the help of a friend, they devised a detailed plan to steal money from an ATM installed in the mart where he works. But things got complicated and the plot intensified. Based on dialogue-driven play, Turbo Cola used endearing casts to portray coming-of-age story of dreams, lossless and realities of American small-town teens. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I recently had the pleasure of watching a highly unusual film. Unusual you ask? Yes, unusual because it was actually a film with a story, plot and subtext that leaves it viewers wishing the film were just a tad bit longer. I didn't want the movie to end. I was invested in the characters, the town and in fact, I was invested in the mini mart where our story takes place. A REAL MINI MART. How's that for film realism? Brandon Keeton and Luke Covert managed to do what few people in film can do: THEY KEPT MY INTEREST! The characters were insanely genuine, in that, they were much like people I knew at the time our story takes place. On New Years Eve 1999 the world was "Supposed to end" at midnight, or at least that was what the simple minded thought, and so too, did our cast of brilliant young talents who breathed life into the insanity of New Years Eve in 1999. Turbo Cola is a different kind of film. It's Good To Watch OVER & OVER AGAIN and never get tired of. Well, at least for me it is.
