Audience Member Uninteresting story. Christian wasn't as clever or cunning as I had hoped. Luv Lois Smith tho, shes such an underrated actress. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member stupid movie no beginning no ENDING! this is SO STUPID!! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review anthony b Christian Slater always manages to play a very convincing sadistic asshole on screen. Even in his early teens...coincidence? Just Kidding Mr. Slater. Seriously, you are truly one of the greats. This is an excellent late 80's, psychological thriller entry that clearly inspired a slew of familiar titles to follow, including both THE GOOD SON and APT. PUPIL. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member "Once upon a time there was a little girl who didn't stay in bed when she was told to. She get herself in trouble when spying on her brother. She had to learn to mind the hard way." One evening the Collins find their maid Mrs. Murdock dead at the end of their steps. Consequently Helen is offered to do the job as the new babysitter when little Evelyn Collins meets her at the market. As soon as the parents have left, Mark starts psychologically terrorizing Helen and his sister with electronic tricks. A step beyond insanity is a twisted mind...with the deadliest of results. A movie with a title so simple to remember that even it would escape from obscurity by bloggers and others who are old enough to remember this when they were around during its 1986 release. Although I wasn't even born about a year later at least I may be one of the few younger people who knows this one. I've watched Twisted on television twice and liked it for the main character's technological savvy with a dark side behind him and a thrilling plot. Christian Slater does his leading performance so cunning, smart, and restive in his Mark character that he really did a great job here. And to perfectly fit into his personalty he listens to fascist-sounding classical music and military marches! Overall, I can say that Twisted definitely defines the step beyond the state of machine-driven foolishness that makes it a great teen thriller movie. As a title released back in the mid-'80s but forgotten nowadays anyone who was around at that time might rediscover this, and for anyone who has never seen it they it would be worth checking out - especially for the Slater fans. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This could have been a great movie, but it tries too hard and adds useless information to the story. Overall, the plot is really good, and it's interesting to see one of Slater's first movies. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member I really loved seeing Christian Slater when he was so young, but this is still a strange movie. Christian's character has a twisted mind, but I wouldn't say it's a step beyond insanity, he's just a misunderstood kid who's parents don't pay any attention to what he does so he gets away with murder, literally. I really thought it was an interesting idea to have a crazy kid trying to drive the babysitter crazy, and then him finding out something's crazy about her too! I liked the ending, but this movie is slow and distant, plus there are other things going on in the story that didn't really help with understanding the movie.
