Jekyll's tragedy in this unique Stevenson revamp is that he doesn't understand that much of humanity already lives a Jekyll-and-Hyde existence -- including his unfaithful bride, who is a 'perfect wife' by day and a 'perfect mistress' by night.

A dry but interesting take on the old tale, where the Hyde alter ego is the cleaned up charming version, albeit with a complete lack of morality. There's not much horror on display though, it plays out more like an infidelity fable.

This is a very well done Hammer flick. Massie is impressive in switching between Jekyll and Hyde. The twist, that Hyde is the good looking, clean cut one, is an interesting switch that plays out nicely.
