Jane Campion's story of teenage friendship dissects the unraveling of a bond between two young girls, Louise (Emma Coles) and Kelly (Kris Bidenko). Starting in the present and moving backward, the different paths they've taken are revealed. Louise is a serious student, while Kelly lives at the beach with her boyfriend. I am a fan of Jane Champion. I love Sweetie and the Piano. All I can say is how in the world did she get to make other films after this artsy fartsy borefest? I am glad that she went on to amazing things but she is lucky beyond belief that she got another chance to prove herself after this mind numbing waste of time.
