Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter [Director Andrew Douglas] is only partially successful at depicting its many twists and turns in convincing fashion. But it's compelling nonetheless, if only for the sheer bizarreness of the events depicted. Mar 14, 2014 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com It's effective, in its way, and the acting is excellent, across the board. But "U Want Me 2 Kill Him" side-steps the real fascination with the story, its real guts, which is: Why? Rated: 2/4 Mar 14, 2014 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times Andrew Douglas, who directed the 2005 "The Amityville Horror" remake, mishandles the standard noir as straightforward drama and gives it an unfortunate after-school-special vibe. Mar 13, 2014 Full Review Frank Ochieng SF Crowsnest Gripping, hypnotic and unassuming, Uwantme2KILLhim? takes its teen angst-ridden tendencies to a whole new deceptive level...a telling and toxic message in the mainstream culture of today's teen alienation and dependency on stand-by technology Rated: 3/4 Nov 11, 2018 Full Review Mark R. Leeper Mark Leeper's Reviews Viewers may feel they have been intentionally misled. Well, they have. Rated: 6/10 Mar 21, 2014 Full Review Kyle Turner Movie Mezzanine If Spike Jonze's Her seeks to destigmatize and legitimize the existence of online relationships, Douglas's U Want Me 2 Kill Him? seeks to do the opposite. Audience Member Twisted manipulation at the hands of a psychopath... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I gave it 3.5 stars because being based on a true event it did keep my attention. Growing up I always heard people talk about the government could mess your life up. Now having seen this movie I am starting believe in conspiracy theories out there. I mean in the movie the M15 agent (government official) was able to manipulate and convince a teenage boy into commiting a murder? I mean come on a kid! How can we trust those in the government if this is how they behave?? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Especially considering its basis in true crime (although questionable how much of it aligns with the reality) it is well acted and interested and keeps you gripped until the last second, predictable at points but I'm not sure that that isn't intentional. Would recommend and have watched on more than one occasion however probably only has the right effect once because you're less sure of what to expect Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member This is just so believeable; d'you want to know why? Because my TV talks to me and it tells me to to fart in Boris Johnson's face. So I'm eating loads of baked beans and it's set to go off tomorrow. Wish me luck.. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member If you didn't know that this was based on a true story, it would seem too far fetched. The true tale sells this one along with the main Actor. A tale of caution for sure Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Very hard to believe must of the events that take place. Outside of that the acting isn't very good and the pacing is snail like. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews
