Synopsis
Yonta (Maysa Marta), a young woman growing up in post-colonial Guinea, has a crush on Vidente (Antonio Simao Mendes), a former freedom fighter now in charge of a cooperative fishing business. Yonta also has a secret admirer, student Ze (Pedro Dias), who sends her love poems copied out of a book. Vidente is attracted to the beautiful Yonta, but he disapproves of her love of fashion and all things European, which clashes with his determination to support their homeland.
