Audience Member Like Night of the Living Dead (which it owes more than a little bit to), it accidentally touches upon a lot of different themes which it gets zero credit for from most reviewers. The initial raid on the house by the radioactive villagers is actually pretty intense. Too bad that much of what's left is kind of humdrum and that the ending (also modeled on Night's) is... well... ill-conceived. Just don't pay much mind to the logistics of the nuclear war that's presented, which leaves everything intact and fallout that's but a minor concern, and enjoy the sometimes smarter-than-it-has-any-right-to-be zombie movie.
