Carlo Verdone takes on a role in each of three stories, all set in Rome on the same day. In the first, Leo (Verdone), a shy and stumbling Spanish tourist, discovers unexpected romance after meeting beautiful Marisol (Mario Brega). Meanwhile, Enzo (also Verdone), a braggart known for his audacious stories, looks to take a vacation but finds his arrogance has scared off any would-be travel companions. Lastly, Ruggero (also Verdone), a Roman, returns home after months on a hippie commune.

Arianna B For me "Un Sacco Bello" (as the movie is called in Italian) is a masterpiece, showing so many fragments of how Italy was in the end of the 70s, beginning of the 80s with an extraordinary eye for the details. It is extraordinary that Carlo Verdone manages to catch all of this by himself, playing six characters and choosing for others actors that manage to give the right dimension to the story. There are a lot of laughters, but there is also a lot of melanchony concerning some of the characters. The balance between the sorrow and the hilarious moments is perfect and manage to bring out the best of the characters and the story. It can be perceived a bit vulgar, but it is done in such a way that, that it appears more as natural and part of "life" than anything else. My favorite character? Alfio, the priest! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The Verdone's knowledge to turn into absolutely different and hilarious characters (the hippy, the loser...) reach the apex in this comedy.
