Audience Member Disturbing and one of the worse Christmas movies ever. If anyone finds it funny to seduce their step niece then I'd be worried for their safety around young people generally. Why make comedy about such a disgusting subject, just yuk. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member This is not the best film ever, but thats not what its trying to be, its just a fun, silly and amusing xmas film. I really enjoyed it! The film is made up of lots of little things that remind you of parties or xmas days you had in the past. Grab a couple of whiskies, put on the fire, switch your braid off and have a little chuckle for an hour Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Ugh. This was basically a clinic on how to make Brian Posehn unfunny. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Brian Posehn, a single middle age man drinks too much at a Christmas family gathering at his brother's house. After making a pass at his brother's step-daughter, he attempts to sleep off his drunk only to discover a family secret. I've followed Brian Posehn's career for nearly 20 years, so I was very glad to see him in a starring role. The step-son wears an Anthrax shirt. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member It's not too well-acted and suffers from some weird pacing issues within scenes, but it is disgusting, dark, moderately funny, and it at least refuses to fit the standard Christmas movie mold, and sometimes boldly does so. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Great film. You can tell its a budget movie and that actually makes the whole thing quite charming. Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter Failing to live up to it anarchic convictions by adding sympathetic aspects to its central character shortly before the conclusion, Uncle Nick, much like the sorts of holiday celebrations it depicts, is ultimately too strained to be enjoyable. Dec 7, 2015 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times Having to spend time with any of these characters would be nobody's idea of fun. Dec 4, 2015 Full Review Glenn Kenny RogerEbert.com The unifying twist is the sort of thing meant to impress a screenwriting workshop instructor, while the action leading up to it toggles between gross physical humor and imagery and in-your-face personal dysfunction. Rated: 1/4 Dec 4, 2015 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...could only have worked as a short. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 30, 2019 Full Review John Esther UR Chicago Magazine It certainly is a funnier holiday film than most holiday films. Jan 3, 2016 Full Review Matt Donato We Got This Covered Uncle Nick isn't as off-putting as its disgruntled lead, but unbalanced dark humor and disturbed storytelling don't do much for this alternative holiday disaster.
