Ben A I began watching this movie and was delighted by the nice montage of the rock film. This was the only good part of the movie. Her lines were so bad that I physically had to turn my head and at the wall for a few minutes. I DID NOT sense any love interest, nor even a FRIENDSHIP between the two. They seemed they were robots adrift in the desert forced to regurgitate the lines while staring so blankly that it seemed they would evaporate into a puddle of tears at any moment. I felt like the tension was extremely artificial and the plot was written by someone with a 7th grade education level. Please dear god to not watch this, nor subject another human in doing so, ad is what happened tonight. Ruined the day. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/09/24 Full Review MS P So much to like. Nothing scummy happens. Nobody becomes dangerous. The actors had a very narrow range of emotion, appropriately, and they were superb. Speaking from experience, I found the intellectual fraud and appropriation that Alex experienced to be spot on. Any undergrad in the sciences needs to see this movie. The ranching issues are also genuine but not overworked. It's a movie about people figuring out what is important. Beautifully, beautifully done. This film will go far! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/01/23 Full Review roger g There will be no Oscars for this movie. Acting a C+, but the story is a good one, A-. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Kenn S Scrolling thru Netflix, thought the idea was different and found I liked it. I live in Arizona and the movie captures the bright quiet feel of the desert- when it isn't scorching out. Everywhere you look you see wide vistas, bright sky and you feel the wind. And it's quiet. Time seems to move slower in the desert when it's quiet and you don't have a lot of people around. The cast are earnest, they know what they are trying to do in this environment and work at it -geological research, ranching, law enforcement. They have choices to make daily and they work through them to stay on track, but they're weighing changing direction all the time. They are likable and hard working so you hope they succeed. It's a good story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Howard H really a small 'love' story but has enough reality of both geology, cattle ranching and academic politics that I am all familiar with to make it enjoyable and happy with the it overall. Ah the power of fossils and rocks and cattle! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Suzanne N I loath, no I hate this film. I thought, great a film with a geology setting. But it was technobabble. It was ludicrous. It made hallmark movies look like cinematic gems. It's like trying to pass crumbly shale off as granite. I despise this dreck Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
