sandie best movie to ever exist Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/19/23 Full Review Aaron C Pleasantly surprised, this is a slow burner but a great low budget Sci-fi film. One of Scarlet's best performances Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/03/24 Full Review David D This movie is awful. I can count the number of movies I have shut off in my life on one hand and this movie is one of them. Did go back and finish it with instant regret. Art house garbage. Don't waste your time on this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review David H The only reason this film got such a high rating was most likely due to make audiences who finally got to see Scarlett Johansson nude through the film. Nothing else tracks. Nothing. No plot. Awful acting from supporting cast members. Slow. Pointless. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Matthew S I cannot believe there are any positive reviews for this movie. It is dark. There is little or no dialog or action. Other than the main character goes around seducing victims, nothing happens. I ended up watching the whole movie because other reviews said the second half was better. It is not. Just more of the same. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/06/24 Full Review Yash B "Under the Skin" is moody, creepy, and unsettling. The movie is slow-paced but consistently fascinating and raises many questions. I feel like I was engaged by most of it and even though the structure is a bit repetitive for most of it, I think it is a well-made movie that made me often uncomfortable. I think the movie lost me a bit in the last act but I still thought the whole product was pretty good. Overall, this is a unique film that will be fun to discuss and analyze down the line and is a solid addition to the A24 psychological horror library. Wael Khairy RogerEbert.com By envisioning a world where the consumers get consumed, the film calls for a reconceptualization of human and nonhuman relationships. “Under the Skin” denies human exceptionalism and supremacy. Mar 21, 2024 Full Review Kjerstin Johnson Bitch Media What started off as a potentially feminist film fell into a tired fairytale. Jan 21, 2021 Full Review Sarah Mirk Bitch Media It does not develop a plot so much as a fascinating feeling of underlying horror. Jan 20, 2021 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …any film or streaming version of Faber’s novel would take an Avatar-level budget to produce, and the commercial possibilities would be limited, but Glazer’s sole misstep as a director was to create this absurdly truncated version of this alienating tale… Rated: 2/5 Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Sean Axmaker Stream on Demand [Director Jonathan] Glazer is less interested in the what and the why than in the texture of the experience, the intensity of the imagery, the sense of adaptation and alienation as this alien starts to connect with her victims.
