Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …there’s something about the way this film conflates male suspicion of women and ‘foreigners’ that’s very revealing of prevailing early 1960’s attitudes and gives it considerable edge… Rated: 4/5 Jan 15, 2024 Full Review MFB Critics Monthly Film Bulletin One can pick holes in the script, but in the long run ingenuity and suspense pay off handsomely. The climax in particular is as satisfying as it is bleak. Mar 3, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member A little gem of a sci-di film, done with nothing really, just a half-baked idea, no special effects of any kind - but elegant direction, superb cinematography, and wonderful acting in spades. John Neville is priceless. Goes to show that great cinema has nothing to do with budget, and that tasteful, excellent craftsmanship can be as effective as any big industry production. Give it a try, it's on Netflix (Italy) as of writing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Audience Member Low budget b&w sci-fi curiosity from the producer and director of TV's The Avengers. Camply acted and clearly influenced by Invasion of the Body Snatchers and Village of the Damned, this actually plays like a satire on early feminism and the fear men have of strange unblinking females who won't do their bidding. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member One of those movies that used to show up on UHF stations before the UHF bandwidth got turned into smart phone bandwidth, The Unearthly Stranger is virtually lost. It never got a video release of any kind, is the reason. This is a pity, as the movie's flawed, but very much worth seeing, with moments of real, alternately terrifying and pathetic power. Seek this one out. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A perfectly okay scifi-thriller with a slender story and better acting than one might expect (the slimy security official is particularly good).
