The film doesn’t take itself too seriously, which works in its favor—the jokes land, the characters are likable, and the tone feels nostalgic without being cheesy. The characters are all likable, I loved the romance, the action, the alien backstory- the plot really moves and I the ending is so satisfying. I’m partial to the desert but Joshua Tree felt like a perfect setting, and the score and music are so good. Also Rosie and Polly as themselves was too cute! Definitely recommend.
