Justin T This is a boring film. It is not fun or interesting to watch. I found very little entertainment here indeed. The ending was so predictable that I almost cried having just cooked my dinner, then ate my food and finally watched a few minutes of the film properly. The violence was bloody but lacking any real gore. Hardly watchable at the best of times, painful to sit through at the worst of times. Don't bother watching this and watch something a little more modern that has stuff going on in it. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Three women are travelling to a music festival but crash their car. They awake in the isolated mansion of an elderly matriarch and her daughter. I love this film and not just because I found it in Poundland of all places. This is a chiller that keeps you guessing until the shocking and completely nutty climax. Look at how great the film is framed and notice the tight editing. This film packs in so much but without any unnecessary filler. Also experience one of the sleaziest soundtracks I've ever heard. It's like the director knew he was making a shocker that was destined to be a video nasty. And that just what happened. The film was classified by the BBFC as an 18 but was then placed on the DPP list and banned anyway. This has meant that it has earned it's place in horror history rather than being a very good movie that faded into obscurity. Thats one good aspect of the Video Nasties list. The violence is graphic, the tone unique to this film alone. I hope this gets the Blu ray treatment it richly deserves. The ending is shocking in a Sleepaway Camp kind of way. Un-PC in these over sensitive times but thats just what makes me love the film even more. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member A little gory 80s treasure.. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Three girls are driving to a remote jazz festival (yes, really) when their car breaks down in a storm and their taken in by a family living in the middle of the woods. I probably do not have to tell you that the family has dark secrets and the girls are not safe. This isn't an obscure gem or anything. The set up is pretty pedestrian and the middle section is really dull. Two of the three girls are essentially out of commission right away, so there's very little to occupy the time it takes to get to the climax. But man, what a climax! The fabulously downbeat gonzo ending of this thing caught me totally by surprise. Worth a look if only for that. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Quite overrated as a video nasty, but still was enjoyable. The interesting twist was not expected and quite interesting. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A somewhat forgotten but moderately entertaining early 80s slasher movie, Unhinged remains relatively mediocre but features enough twists and twistedness to keep fans of genre interested.
