Jerod S Lundgren's return is the only real good thing about this movie. Hard to make high sci-fi flicks on a low budget and this one looks like it went straight to VHS. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/01/24 Full Review matthias s "Universal Soldier: Regeneration" resembles a direct-to-video flick, failing to escape the pitfalls of its low-budget aura. The paper-thin plot struggles to sustain interest, leaving viewers yearning for substance. Jean-Claude Van Damme, true to form, delivers a commendable performance, injecting life into an otherwise lackluster narrative. Dolph Lundgren's casting proves to be a saving grace, injecting a dose of charisma. The film boasts cool stunts that momentarily grab attention but can't rescue it from the realms of boredom. While JCVd enthusiasts may find solace in his martial prowess, even his efforts can't elevate this cinematic misfire. In the end, "Regeneration" is a forgettable addition to the Universal Soldier franchise, leaving audiences craving more than just routine action and uninspired storytelling. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie completely forgets what makes Universal Soldier original movie a joy to watch and that is JCVD and Lundgren conflict they are the franchise, this movie has them less than 20% of the time on screen. Nobody cares about your generic story about bland and undeveloped characters give me JCVD and Lundgreen kicking ass. Such a disappointment. Even Terminator sequels that are bad movies know what people want: Arnold kicking ass. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy this after the last one, but JCVD didn't let me down here Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/18/20 Full Review steve d Ineffective followup especially with the return of the strong cast. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Discovered this direct to video sequel recently and it did not disappoint. Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren are back doing what they do best just a little older. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
