Audience Member Absolute garbage. Not even slightly scary; horribly written and directed. Do not waste your time on this trash. Anticlimactic, predictable, unoriginal, and at times just ridiculous. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/18 Full Review Audience Member poorly, written, tons of stuff that makes no sense, as in, oh look i escaped, let me run a few hundred yards, then stop and build a fire AT NIGHT IN THE MIDDLW OF THE WOODS, while there is literally someone right behind me chasing me, stupidest thing ever, etc etc, to many spots like that to list them all, acting was poor, the main antagonist did a decent job though. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/24/18 Full Review Audience Member Sue me, but I liked it. I think they needed to tighten up on the editing a bit, but once I got lost in the story, it was pretty satisfying. What it lacked in finesse, it made up for in overall respect for the female perspective. Not to give anything away, but the best part for me involved the use of a blunt object to the head. I enjoyed the lead character, played by Murray Gray, but was also intrigued by one of the supporting characters, Ms. Willfellow, played by Cindy Karr. I'd like to see more of them both in the future. A lot of great potential there. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member horrible torture/rape flic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member An excellent directorial debut for former NFL stud, Simeon Rice, this movie dialed up some good tension and surprisingly good acting considering this is basically the first major role for lead actress Gray. She will be someone to watch in the future as the movies need more positive roles for African-American women. Well, any women for that matter. The other pleasant surprise was Rusty Joiner, who played bad guy, Noah. Wow ... charming and 100% creepy. Not gonna lie, at one point, I was thinking he would have been great in Christian Bale's role in "American Psycho". This was a terrific date movie. It is filled with some good tense moments, but not loads of gore that will make your stomach crawl. It's also an indie film and instead of throwing money at some of the low-rated cr@p that is out from the major studios now, see this movie. You'll be glad you did because I was soooooo happy that I skipped Sinister 2 to see this instead. Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times "Unsullied" screenwriter John Nodilo ameliorates an otherwise generic cat-and-mouse thriller with unusually thoughtful expositions. Aug 27, 2015 Full Review Andy Webster New York Times The movie flirts with 1970s exploitation revenge pictures, complete with a 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport, but comes up short on the attendant payoffs. Aug 27, 2015 Full Review Tirdad Derakhshani Philadelphia Inquirer Unsullied was made by a director with real promise. It's a shame Rice picked this turkey to shoot as his first. Rated: 1.5/4 Aug 27, 2015 Full Review Mark H. Harris Black Horror Movies Hardcore exploitation fans might find Unsullied a bit toothless, and the ending is clunky, but on the whole, it's engaging, fast-paced entertainment that refreshingly doesn't stick to tired genre norms. Rated: 3.3/5 Jan 9, 2020 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Unsullied boasts a solid thru-line, strong characters and high production values. Characters are fully fleshed out and well defined while some surprising plot twists keep the audience on its toes. Tension and suspense are palpable. Nov 29, 2019 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Movies with Mae While the film does have a lot to offer, it isn't able to carry that momentum all the way through to the end. Regardless of some of the film's issues, however, Simeon Rice has a lot of potential in his future as a filmmaker. Rated: 3/5 May 2, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
