Steve D More uncomfortable than entertaining. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review acsdoug D The plot - such as it is - is at best implausible. Let's start with the fact that a girl raised in the South American jungle speaks English with a perfect American accent. It doesn't get much better from there. Since this is one of the early "talkies" the actors still use the exaggerated gestures and facial expressions common in silent films. You can tell they were still working out the kinks regarding sound. Every scene took place on a set, nothing was filmed outside, and the camera remains stationary as they still hadn't figured out how to move the microphone around.
