Uprising must be a movie because it makes us feel better about ourselves, when we know perfectly well that we don't deserve to. Go to Full Review

Uprising, though flawed in a lot of ways, is still worth checking out if only to learn about a true-life inspirational tale. Go to Full Review

Merits watching if only because it's a bracing corrective to the deeply entrenched image of Europe's Jews plodding, sheep-like, to their deaths in Nazi concentration camps. Go to Full Review

Steve D 09/25/2023 A tough watch but a powerful one. See more Garrett B. - Gtmkm98 06/14/2023 Although overlong and often draggy in pace, this movie rewards you with extended action sequences that leave you satisfied with a ‘they finally got what they deserved' feel that you fail to experience on films like Schindler's List. The aforementioned action scenes are incredibly gripping and save the miniseries from boredom, although the last hour (mostly in tunnels under Warsaw) does fall to boredom. The movie also alternates regularly between color and B&W, furthering the symbolism shown in Schindler's List. Although every major actor takes great turns (well above the usual TV standard), David Schwimmer in particular makes this movie shine with his no-BS attitude and will to never stop until the Nazis leave the ghetto. Possibly one of his best roles. Although it suffers from overlong-ness and other issues, its best sequences endure as some of the best in TV, and maybe even movie, history. See more @Karlwinters 07/12/2019 It illistrates very well the attitude of superiority and contempt of others by the Germans, believeing in theiregotism they could take over the world. There is a hint of that still in their genes if you visit other countries where they holiday as I have encountered in Spain, Italy, Kenya, et al. I have also seen a Gozitan 6 inches smaller make a Tall German cower when he was insulted. Good job. See more 02/01/2019 Great movie about the horrible treatment of the Jews in Warsaw, Poland, and the horrendous fight against that treatment. See more 08/16/2015 so important to know that there were ghetto uprisings in Poland. I never learned about them in school. inspirational heroes are represented by an all star cast, doing terrific work to portray them.
