Could’ve been far better if it wasn’t for all the awful CGI, which is a shame as there was some great practical effects used. Rated 3/5 Stars •  Rated 3 out of 5 stars 09/10/24 Full Review Justin T The acting, writing and direction is atrocious although the characters are probably more interesting than Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000). All of the horror set-pieces were done pretty terribly, just watch the sunbed scene and compare it to the one in Final Destination 3 (2006) to see what I mean. The supernatural element was out of place and had nothing to do with the previous films. The CGI hasn’t aged well. I’m giving it a bonus point though because it is occasionally really very gory and has two good jump scares. Was the father dubbed? His lines were quite jarring compared to the other cast. You see too much of the supernatural, the ghost looks silly and they dwell on it. Watch the motel scene and tell me this film isn’t goofy with a straight face, it’s not possible. There are some horrific plot holes and inconsistencies and incomprehensible actions. Sometimes the editing was over cut, they tried to include too many shots and some of the film is really out of focus. It’s very predictable, the big reveal was obvious way before they reveal it. Apart from the gore and the jump scares this is pretty much unwatchable unless you like bad films. I think I do. At least this had some personality unlike some really generic films. And so the legend starts - I like the Candyman comment, but they still chant the name 3 times. Quite a nice shock when 'she' turns up the first time, but I'm not sure it was wise to bring up Candyman when your film suffers so much by comparison. It's just a bit one note and a bit stupid - though I like the deaths from other flicks.
