      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Though it may appeal to its built-in fanbase, Vampire Academy's Twilight-meets-Mean Girls conceit borrows lazily from its predecessors and offers few laughs or thrills to complement its overstuffed backstory.

Nim T This film was watchable with Zoey Deutch, but was not enough to overcome the cliche title of Vampire Academy. Before I started to watch this film, I would believe it might be possibly related to Twilight, but unfortunately worst than I expected as Twilight does have some essence of a story that is about a couple. In here, it's unclear of whether a couple exists between the young cast. I did not like Kurylenko's portrayal because she gives off a nasty snobbiness that brought frustration as I reviewed it. The love that the characters have for one another is weak to none, complicated by Sarah Hyland's and Gabriel Byrne's transition. This is a film that I watched once, and most likely only once. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review ziggy r Dracula would put put a stake in his own heart and go into the sun. This movie is very very bad. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/16/23 Full Review Adina N I think the movie is quite pretty and an accurate portrayal of the world created in the book series. In my opinion this is a kind of movie where reading the books first is a must. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Luke S It is beyond me why i like this movie so much. It has become a guilty pleasure of mine. I understand why others don't like it. But heck... i don't care. I'll just enjoy it and it's possible you will too! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/25/23 Full Review Katerin D Wish it wasn't canceled, loved how it was just like the books , bring it back please Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/03/23 Full Review Alexandra W It was great. The casting was spot on and it followed the books so well. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Roxana Hadadi Punch Drunk Critics Another young-adult adaptation bites the dust. Rated: 0.5/5 Jan 9, 2017 Full Review Chris Stuckmann ChrisStuckmann.com A film that attempts to satire the popular love triangle romances of the current day, yet falls into the same tired cliches of said films. Rated: D+ Apr 23, 2015 Full Review David Stratton At the Movies (Australia) I thought it was a complete mess. I thought the teenage dialogue was puerile and that was a shame because Daniel Waters wrote the screenplay for HEATHERS, which is one of the really nice films about school but that was a long time ago. Rated: 1/5 Mar 10, 2014 Full Review Joe Lipsett Hazel & Katniss & Harry & Starr Podcast The mix of horror and comedy don't entirely work and the supporting characters aren't memorable, but as a comedic lead, this is the perfect star vehicle for Zoey Deutch.
