Audience Member VERY DISAPPOINTING! My top 10 list of favourite movies includes BLOOD IN BLOOD OUT, it is a classic. The storyline of blood in blood out was incredible, you get to know each character well and it makes you feel every emotion from great sadness to elation. I finally found this movie I was super excited to see Miklos in action again but this wasn't it. It's such a shame that it went from Top 10 to not even worth 1 STAR. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I really wanted to like this movie but it failed to send out the message from the original movie it is taking inspiration from Damian Chapa who plays Mickey solis also played miklo velka in "Blood in Blood Out Bound by Honor" Chapa trys to reprise his role as the half white half Chicano character Miklo but he fails to remember the message of the original film it wasn't just gang banging and killing people the characters were relatable you can see progression in each of the 3 protagonists Miklo, Paco, and, Cruzito Paco was a boxer who retired early due to breaking his wrist but continues to try to be the cool tough guy of the gang Cruzito is a artist who want's to have his art be known by millions he falls from grace when his little brother Jaunito dies when he shoots heroin the wrong way he becomes disowned by his family and has nobody but his paintings and his friend chuey he delt with drugs to get rid of the emotional and physical pain of getting his spine broken by a rival gang member but reunites with paco and remembers what his paintings truly meant Miklo on the other hand he always had tough trouble fitting in because of his latin blood under his white skin he wasn't accepted as a Chicano because of his skin complexion so after he go's to jail he proves to the leader of the Chicano gang la onda that he has what it takes to be a real Chicano he gets more respect and more power with each task he completes he had so much power that when he went back home on parole he tried to be a productive member of society but he let the power get to his head and ends up robbing and killing people in result of him losing his leg and going back to jail were he feels is home what did Vatos locos teach me? Not a god damn thing from start to finish its just a generic gangster movie just shooty shoot gang bang just shoot kill stab and drugs vatos locos is trying to ride off the blood in blood out wave but fails to capture the same message even though they are 2 separate movies Chapa really thinks he is Miklo and sadly thats all he wants to be remembered as and thats all he took from the movie im so disappointed in this fake knock off Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member so bad. a 30 second youtube of blood in blood out woulda been much better Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
