The story of Veronico Cruz (Gonzalo Morales) begins with his birth in a remote village in the rolling hills of Argentina. As a shepherd, he lives a poor, sheltered life with only his grandmother (Anna María Gonzáles), until the day a teacher (Juan José Camero), known as El Maestro, comes to town and becomes his mentor. After Veronico's grandmother dies, Veronico moves in with El Maestro and begins to learn about the outside world, where a military coup ravages the capital city.

Audience Member LETTERBOX. La poesía de esta película es increíble y se sustenta en la simpleza de sus paisajes escénicos y emocionales. Pierde un poco el ritmo durante el último tercio, pero el final es sobrecogedor. / The poetry of this film is incredible and rests upoin the simplicity of its scenic and emotional landscapes.
