Audience Member Vielleicht in einem anderen Leben is an ambitious project but doesn't succeed. It's about a group of hungarian Jews on transfer to KZ Mauthausen for their extermination. They stop in a small Austrian village where they are accomodated in the barn of the Fasching family. A family who lost their only son in the war and made the father a cripple. One of the prisoners is a former opera singer (perfectly played by Peter Vegh - imagine a mixture of Sean Penn and Adrien Brody) who wants to perform the operetta Wiener Blut for their hosts, as a last performance so to say in the wake of sure death with the positive side effect to maybe win over their hosts. The film is well-acted especially by the already mentioned Vegh and Johannes Krisch who plays the father - he's just perfect in the role - full of anger because of his loss which he uses as a catalyst to hate the jews. Only his wife changes his mind as time goes on and music comes back into the Fasching estate. Certainly not a feelgood movie but worth a watch.
