Audience Member B grade & belongs to a remove TV channel bit I saw worst... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member It was okay at first and then it just got stupid when the main characters went back on the mountain (without protective masks) and one character put his wife in a car to drive out by herself AFTER the roads were closed -- itś like they threw the movie together so fast they didn´t take the time to make sure the sequence was right nor if certain things even made sense. Otherwise, it was a nice little ride of disastrous fun. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review jon c Funny how both this and Dante's Peak would come out the exact same month 25 years ago Both essentially share the same plots with slight tweaks In this story Angel Lake Summit in the East Sierra Mountains ski resort has been blessed with early snows, but geologist Peter Slater of the California State Geological Survey has concluded that the dormant volcano beneath the resort is about to erupt Medical skier Kelly Adams stumbles upon dead animal carcasses on the mountain and is not sure why but Peter knows better Naturally there is some resistance and no one believes him, not even his boss, until an earthquake shakes the region and unleashes a torrent of magma Much like 'Jaws' human ignorance and stupidity starts to cloud the real issue at hand Peter wants everyone to wake up and see the bigger picture With the volcano taking its toll everyone starts to pay the price I like these actors, the urgency of the plot, the destruction is filmed very nicely The setting of a ski resort is a good change cause you rarely think about snow and lava mixing together Some of the effects are standard tv quality but expect that from something like this Some of the minor plot threads could be dropped entirely and some just don't get resolved at all But if you want a good hour and a half to kill of a disaster movie next to 'Dante's Peak' this isn't bad to check out Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member looks very interesting want to see Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I had to wake up at 5.20am just to see this movie because it's so fantastic! The avalanche scene is the best part. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member We get so spoilt by movie graphics these days, that I watched this and thought little of the volcano's graphics - yet I'm sure they were considered good graphics when they were made, so I'm going to try and be fair regarding them. What I *cannot* let pass so easily is the way that the two key characters at the end can outski a snow-avalanche; the avalanche actually seemed 'polite' enough to hold back so that they could both survive, and that was just both hilarious and intellectually insulting.
