His greatest Allied opponent, the Canadian Roy Brown (Don Stroud), has little use for the supposed dignity and honor of war. He just wants to shoot down Germans, especially the baron and his new tri-plane. Audience Member I really enjoyed this little Corman WWI action flick. A very tight 90 minute no nonsense film. As historical accurate as a film could get, though it is debated if Brown really did shoot Von Richthofen or some Australian machine gunner from the ground, since The Red Baron was uncharacteristically flying low to the ground. Love the aerial sequences, fantastic to see real planes flying. Looks damn good for a low budget flick from the 70s. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review delysid d stupid story but good looking movie about planes Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/06/22 Full Review Audience Member This movie is awful, I can't believe who would think this story was worthy.. Von Richthofen deserves better, also as a Canadian we are not American's. This was painful to watch. I have no idea what movie Margaret Hinxman watched. As she has reported how amazing it is. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I don't know if either the Corman brothers didn't like the audio they got from the dialogue scenes, or if they thought it would just plain sound better if they dubbed over all the dialogue in post production. Either way, it makes about 85% of this movie almost unwatchable. The problem isn't that the dialogue was dubbed, it's that the inflections, emotions and pacing of the dialogue doesn't match the actors' performances on screen. Not even once. It's like watching a foreign film with the dialogue dubbed into english, except that the movie was shot in english. Aside from that, the script is awful, the acting is wooden and the editing and pacing of the movie is very inconsistent, jumping around to different points in time without rhyme or reason. On the other hand, the aerial footage is incredible and was shot and choreographed very well. The cinematography is also well done, making for a good looking film, but with very little substance. Hollywood has yet to make a solid movie about the Red Baron Manfred Von Richtofen, this is one on a list of many failed attempts. If you like footage of old planes, this is the movie for you, if you're looking for a compelling story, give it a pass. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member The only real good thing about this movie was watching the planes. Everything else was just bad. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Lavish, by Roger Corman standards, historical drama about WWI ace fighter pilot, the Red Baron. The other part of the the title, Brown, is a Canadian pilot flying with the allies. The action and ariel fight sequences are terrific and I be were pretty impressive on the big screen. The major downside to the film is that the film is pretty boring when the pilots are on the ground and talking. Worth watching for the action, but it's not really a very compelling drama. I'd have expected better from Corman. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
