Leah K This film had more potential because the lead actors had good chemistry and energy and the storyline and location were worthy. The novel-to-script was weakened by fixable issues. Even though all the ingredients were present, some important facets were underdeveloped and missing. If the script writer and director had taken more risks, created more compelling scenes and the props and atmosphere in the sets were more unique and original to the characters and their personalities, then perhaps the total film would have had more impact and been more exciting/pleasant to watch. A dullness rested on the style of clothing and furnishings. Some scenes were too dark to see the story and character development. The natural settings in nature and tire workshop location were the best authentic locations. Kate's clothing was dull. Her home was dull. So was Dean's. Too much repetitive scene imagery in each friendship like they all came from the same mold. Lazy. A shame. If everything used had been upgraded authentically and each scene had a drop more vibrancy, the end result would have been more insightful, compellimg and beautiful to watch. Loved the casting. The characters were all there. The storyline fun and raunchy. But, authenticity and original depiction of characters and topics and issues could have been pushed to the edge more. Liked the film in general. So much more could have developed from more attention to detail. The last scene and the camping scene were the most authentic. Thank you to cast and crew and novelist and script writer. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/01/25 Full Review Read all reviews
