Matt Brunson Film Frenzy The production design is fairly impressive, but the sea creatures encountered by the heroes are hardly menacing (they look like those startled emoticons). Rated: 2/4 Oct 29, 2024 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins It's one of the blander of these fantasy forays, perhaps due in part to the minimum of action and monsters. christopher c. m Honestly, it's very slow, almost boring at times. But Vincent Price is always great a villain. And the evil Captain is no exception. The fish men monsters could have been better, even in 1965. But is has a goofy charm, it's not a high recommendation. But it's a must for Vincent Price completionists. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Bernard K Great movie sets and video, but the acting was horrible, and the story was very corny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/28/20 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing final film for director Jacques Tourneur. Supposedly based upon an Edgar Allen Poe poem, Tab Hunter and his compatriots find themselves sucked into a mysterious Victorian Era underwater city run by Vincent Price. The film does have a bit of a proto-steampunk/BioShock feel that's kind of fun and director Tourneur does manage to include a few striking shots here and there, but overall this is one of the weaker AIP Poe films and not really worth watching. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member so bad it's good from the director of original 'cat people' Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Tacky and lacking in all the wrong areas, ´War Gods´is a sad end to Torneur´s distinguished career. Price and Tomlinson try, and the sets are not half bad, but a dull script, idiotic characters and a lack of fun kill it dead. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member It has a good horror/sci-fi feel to it, beautifully shot, and stars Vincent Price--Enjoyable subterranean hokum!!
