Audience Member Good movie here not good for children though James Welch, Henderson, Arkansas October 28, 2023 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Si H Very enjoyable movie. Rodgers Miller's Ballard is great Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Matthew D When refering to rape as "assult with the friendly weapon" is the funniest line in the script, you know it's a terrible movie. Why the hell did Blake Edwards produce this crap? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Audience Member The movie was hilarious but today every group there is would boycott it. It's one of the most politically incorrect and offensive movies I've ever watched. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This is one of the few western movies I have seen that is successful as a comedy. Rape is presented as an insignificant crime in this movie, giving the film a rather bad message. However that is part of what makes this movie so humorous. The singing/narration in the movie that is very appropriately sung by Roger Miller, is a perfect addition to the hilarious plot. This is the first movie that I have seen Carroll O'Connor in and I think that his performance is without a doubt the best among the other actors in this movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Waterhole #3 is one of my all time favorite movies of the 1960's. A great cast with stars James Coburn and Carroll O'connor, with small role, played by a young Bruce Dern, ("Ain't that right John?"). Every once in a while, the narrative theme, and some of the lyrics, sung by Roger Miller, come to mind. They still make me smile, as does the overall film. I'm not sure that many young people, and those that insist on political correctness. Would enjoy it in the present day, but it still apparently gets good reviews, from those that come across it. Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Rated: 2/4 Oct 23, 2004 Full Review Paul Jay Robbins Los Angeles Free Press The film surpasses reverence for temporal morality, allegiance to illusion is refused and the result is a truly religious celebration of the soul of man.
