You don't have to be a motorsport fan to richly enjoy Kiwi producing duo Matthew Metcalfe and Fraser Brown's (McLaren, the upcoming Scott Dixon doco Born Racer) latest work, but it will certainly help.

What the doco Wayne does very well is chart the immense distance - both literally and metaphorically - Gardner had to traverse to become the first Australian to win the coveted 500cc World Championship.

Well worth watching for those of us intrigued by motorcycles - story line etc a bit flat however the doco around his racing career from dirt bike to world champion was, for me intriguing ciao paul

I really enjoyed WAYNE. Entertaining, exciting and insightful. It paints a great portrait of an Australian legend. It's direct, straightforward approach is ideally suited to the subject.
