Audience Member Not so great ... the segments don't really cohere, but are pasted together with flashy graphics. Bilge Ebiri Spirituality & Health Barker's documentary about the Arab Spring has a subtle conceit at its heart. Mar 24, 2020 Full Review Godfrey Cheshire RogerEbert.com The film commendably gives us vivid and memorable people whose personal stories strikingly illuminate their peoples' struggles ... Rated: 3/4 Dec 12, 2014 Full Review Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times It doesn't even begin to cover the scale and toll of the cataclysm in any of the three countries, not to mention the Arab Spring as a whole. Dec 11, 2014 Full Review D.W. Mault CineVue [A] thoroughly emotionally dishonest film that aims for pedagogical enlightenment and lapses into trite feelgood disparate fantasies. Rated: 2/5 Apr 3, 2019 Full Review Louis Proyect rec.arts.movies.reviews Thrilling reminder that people are ready to die for their ideals in a period of history when corruption and brutality run rampant, starting with the White House. Dec 12, 2014 Full Review Brian Donaldson The List The question posed throughout this film is whether there comes a time in every peaceful campaign that some form of armed struggle becomes almost inevitable.
