dave s When a pair of stoners (Scott Speedman, Wes Bentley) decide to bury the body of a friend (Taryn Manning) who has overdosed in the basement of an abandoned drive-in theater, they interrupt a group of Satan worshippers in the midst of a human sacrifice. From there, things get weird. Welcome to Weirdsville. While the chemistry between the three leads feels real and there are some clever laughs, the movie is filled with too many improbable coincidences, a parade of ridiculous incidents to advance the story, and a bunch of characters too bizarre to be believed, including a posse of dwarfs equipped with medieval weapons. To further compound the aforementioned issues, the movie is edited with a seizure-inducing style at times. While Weirdsville had some potential, it just seems as though things were taken too far. Again, welcome to Weirdsville. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member I was expecting a little more weird from this movie . What I ended up with is a couple junkies in debt scheming plans to make it right with the dealer . That and sprinkle in a dead hooker and satanic cult . Fun movie . 3.1 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/27/20 Full Review Audience Member Two junkies, who are planning a safe heist to pay off the mobster they owe $8000, clash with Satanists when they interrupt a ritual while burying an overdosed friend. At times this stoned black comedy from the director of PUMP UP THE VOLUME flirts with BIG LEBOWSKI-esque greatness, but some questionable contrivances and forced quirkiness put it in the merely entertaining range. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member So over-directed almost all of the jokes fall flat Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member some funny moments while running from the dealer...! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Just like the title, go into this movie expecting something different. I was surprised how well it was done and from not hearing about it it was really funny. In my taste anyway. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Anthony Quinn Independent (UK) It's wacky, it's zany, it's loopy, it's freaky, it's daffy - but alas, not the most important one, which is "funny". Rated: 1/5 Nov 16, 2007 Full Review Daily Telegraph (UK) Allan Moyle's stoner heist movie is a meandering dud. Nov 16, 2007 Full Review Andrew Pulver Guardian It's pretty amusing stuff - though it could have been a lot funnier if they had resisted the temptation to shoehorn in quite so many plot twists. Rated: 3/5 Nov 16, 2007 Full Review Matt Kelemen Las Vegas CityLife If there was more vision on the front end, with more thought put into shot composition and less adherence to trendy, attention-deficit filmmaking, Weirdsville might have been an innovative indie gem Mar 17, 2008 Full Review Josh Bell Las Vegas Weekly Neither as funny nor as serious as it ought to be. Rated: 2/5 Jan 31, 2008 Full Review Matthew Turner thelondonpaper Chainmailed flail-wielding midgets chasing Satanists chasing druggies - Allan Moyle has gone for the grown-up panto approach.
