Wendy has an impressive young cast, and succeeds in establishing an atmosphere all its own. The film departs from the classic Peter Pan tale in odd ways, however, offering its own idiosyncratic and deeply melancholy take on growing old, and the plot seems to accord with the movie's internal fantasy logic while not maintaining any consistent metaphoric insight.
