Audience Member I like the visual look of the film. I think it intresting seeing what West Point looked like in the late 1920's. I think that the story is missing something for me personally. The plot of a guy going after a girl who is already taken, a guy saying he waints to quit because of a girl I have seen before in other stories so this film misses it on a unique original story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/07/18 Full Review Audience Member Worth catching only for an early glimpse of Joan just before she broke through to full fledged stardom but that's about it. Haines is beyond irksome in his smug self assurance. He stepped away voluntarily from his screen career but it's hard to believe he would have been able to continue very successfully once sound came in. His glad handing jerk is hard enough silently with dialogue he would have been completely insufferable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Starts out brightly, then disintegrates into the usual college-football antics and mushy sentimentality. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member haines reteamed with his fave director edward sedgwick in this military comedy Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Early Joan Crawford silent film show casing Crawford at her most beautiful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This is Joan movie 52 of 81 for me, but it's really a William Haines movie. He's a cad who goes to West Point and learns how to not be a jerk. Twenty-something Joan is the love interest. Haines is very charismatic; it's a shame he's not better known today.
