      Ben T Carry on regulars Sid James and Kenneth Connor star in an old dark house comedy in the hope of inheriting a fortune. The script works well and goes for cheap laughs and gags. Michael Gough also stars as does Donald Pleasance. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review martin a A great cast but sadly Sid James is poorly cast, and the film has a limited comedy appeal. The story is about a group of relatives that are called to the family of the deceased for the reading of the will. One by one they are killed off, however, the survivors try to find the killer before they are killed. The problem is the film is just not funny, but it is not a thriller either. The relation between the characters helps string it together, with the mansion becoming a suitable setting. The comedy is decent, Sid James is amusing as Syd. It's very much what you'd expect from a black-and-white production from 1961, but it's one that is worth a watch.
