Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) It lacks focus and feels unconvincing and contrived. Gates RogerEbert.com "What Comes Around" is what happens when filmmakers lack tact and land squarely in the realm of exploitation. Rated: 1/4 Aug 4, 2023 Full Review Sean P. Means The Movie Cricket The [script's] sharp turn is, on one level, lurid and creepy. It’s also a narrative dead-end, a “check, please” moment from which the sharpest screenwriter would find hard to recover. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 10, 2023 Full Review Rachel West AWFJ.org Director Amy Redford presents her second film, What Comes Around, as a relationship thriller but murky and awkward storytelling makes the film fall flat despite the best efforts of its star Grace Van Dien. Audience Member My parents and I watched it together, and we thought it was a well done film with great actors and we all loved the plot twist. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/29/24 Full Review Kuiama G My main gripe is music is way too loud. So hard to hear the dialog. But not like I'm missing much there, script was pretty bad. Acting did most of the leg work here and fear it would have been a total flop without their skills. Great story premise, I wonder if the play told it better and it's just not translating to the screen. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/24 Full Review Kiersten C The acting was outstanding, minimal characters and each one nailed their role. Sadly, the writers didnt give them a lot to work with. The side characters were just that, fillers in scenes with huge potential for more story line. As for the main characters, powerful actors, trying to make the most of the plot given to them. The storyline is pretty cut and dry, and maybe our take away was to be just that. A raw story with no wild plot twists or outrageous climax, which can be powerful when well executed. In this stories case, it left us feeling no emotion even as the actors are giving their best. This is a case of massive potential with minimal plot, that sadly just landed as a dull watch. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Paola S Twists and turns had me at the edge of my seat. Great movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Mark B Really good! Love the double twist! Kyle's acting was stupendous! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/01/24 Full Review Corinne H Can I give it zero stars? Whoever this mom actress is, is quite literally the worst dog water actress in existence. I actually dislike her as a person after watching this movie. And the plot?? Did a 5 year old write this? Amazon, refund me. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
