Tina K Sucked and a waste of time! There is no pay off at the end, as someone claimed. Stupid ending and that is 1.5 hours of my life that I'll never get back! Good grief! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/24 Full Review Donna-lee E If I had a rotten tomato or just about anything at the time of watching I would have thrown it at this movie. It could of had potential but this train wreck got worse at it hurtled along, I stick in there to the end but was glad it was over, if not annoyed by the wasted time. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/24 Full Review Gianmarco R This is not a real review, it should be taken more as a collection of impressions on the film. Wow, where to start, well certainly from saying that the film is a total waste because it could have been a very banal thriller and it would have been negative but not too much and instead it dares more wanting to become much more classic horror and less psychological thriller with a twist of the plot right towards the end which radically changes the film making it no longer banal but really bad, this unexpected change of direction succeeds in the arduous task of making this thriller worse which otherwise would have been simply banal but acceptable but instead it is really terrible in this way. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/18/23 Full Review GM M Woeful, I repeat, woeful. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Rosana B Muito bom, imprevisível, surpreendente, bizarro, aquelas produções independentes muito corajososas porque podem dar horrivelmente muito certo ou horripilantemente muito errado... Aqui deu certo se você não for muito exigente, for mente aberta, e gostar da fuga do lugar comum, um desfecho pretensioso e quase incógnita... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/26/23 Full Review Ashley O Well, if their intent was to make ever inch of my body contort with creepiness vibes — they were successful! The horror component of this film is definitely more the psychological. It taps into those primal fears that most of us ladies don't like to think about, being sexually targeted by a man we are suppose to be able to trust. He's like the male version of siren, so beautiful and is leading us to our death. (Spoiler alert) That shower scene was probably one of the most uncomfortable scenes I've EVER witnessed in a film, which was preceded by a scene on a boat that I —omgeee —I don't even want to think about. I audibly gasped. Umm, John licks something, that I've NEVER seen in cinema. Then there's that ending. WHAT?! That's all I get? What happens? I. Need. More. I then went looking for answers, and I read this Q&A with the director. He said , "the final scene was one of the earliest shots in my head. For me it answers the who, what, where, and why of our mystery. Part of the why, for instance, is distinguished by a physical trait shared by all the subjects in the shot." Then I watched the film again — and this movie is really nuanced. Once you see that detail and a few others you finally get what John is doing, and where Libby is headed. I'll let you see it for yourself. It's a little M.Night Shyamalan-esque Overall, great acting and a visually beautiful film. Ahhhh — Give me a sequel!! Cath Clarke Guardian The denouement when it comes is meant to be shriek of pure sci-fi horror; but really, you'd find better entertainment - and more energetic acting - watching a fish tank. Rated: 1/5 Feb 16, 2021 Full Review Simon Abrams RogerEbert.com What Lies Below mostly coasts on its never-fully exploited main scenario: what would you do if an attractive eccentric tried to be your stepfather? Rated: 2/4 Dec 4, 2020 Full Review Amanda the Jedi Amanda the Jedi (Youtube) Disturbing but probably not entirely in the way they were aiming for. Jul 4, 2021 Full Review Margot Harrison Seven Days (VT) The awkward storytelling and dialogue don't feel meaningful or deliberate, and the ending isn't tantalizing so much as mishandled. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 21, 2021 Full Review Tom Meek Cambridge Day ...the eerie ride becomes bad camp... Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 15, 2021 Full Review Austin Burke Austin Burke/Flick Fan Nation This film features a somewhat interesting setup, but the lack of any sort of payoff keeps it from thriving.
