As a whole, ‘What We Hide' has the feeling of an old after-school special, a melodramatic lesson about a topical issue. However, simply bringing up the spectre of the opioid crisis isn’t enough. Go to Full Review

Aug 23 A story that needs to be told. Glad I had a chance to see it in a movie theater. Mckenna Grace was excellent and the her sister as well. Worth seeing! See more Elisha I @asapidox 5d Haunting, emotional, and incredibly powerful. The story unfolds in a way that slowly wrecks you, and the performances feel raw and honest. One of those films that stays with you long after it ends. See more Megan H @casualmoviewatcher Jan 11 It was very good. A unique plot and an important issue to shine light on. I did get frustrated with the main character at times and found the scenes with the mom’s boyfriend a little too extreme. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Dec 27 What We Hide is a darkly comedic drama led by McKenna Grace, who shines as a young girl trying to protect her sister after their mother dies. Grace carries the film, bringing depth and energy that keeps viewers engaged even when the story falters. The premise is bold—hiding a body while avoiding social services—but the execution is uneven. The first act drags, the second act loses momentum, and the climax feels anticlimactic. The screenplay has creative moments but struggles with pacing and tonal shifts between dark humor and suspense. Supporting characters are underdeveloped, making some interactions feel hollow. Despite these flaws, Grace’s performance elevates the film, making it watchable and entertaining, though it ultimately feels forgettable and inconsistent. Fans of Grace will appreciate her work, but the story itself doesn’t leave a lasting impression. See more Daph H Sep 30 What We Hide was an extraordinary film that left a lasting impression on me. The acting by the two young girls, Mckenna Grace and Jojo Regina, was nothing short of astonishing, especially considering their age. Their performances were so raw and powerful that I genuinely believe they deserve serious awards recognition. What struck me most was how the film gave such a clear window into their lives. Beyond its artistry and the incredible cinematography and imagery, the film shed a much-needed light on a crisis that doesn’t seem to get spoken about enough - the devastating impact of drug addiction on children and families. See more Alexander F Sep 24 Boring movie was really slow. Some good dramatic and emotional scenes and Reese is a good character but overall not great and not entertaining. See more Read all reviews
