Jonathan Romney Screen International Overall the film capitalises on the spareness to deliver a payoff that feels downright mythic in its primal charge – like Dostoevsky, Jacobean tragedy and High Noon, in one brutal cocktail. Sep 12, 2022 Full Review Dan Callahan TheWrap Has enough memorable images to make it an imperfect but haunting experience. Sep 5, 2022 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film The real horror of Diaz’s film lies in its recognition of how meaningless all these conflicts are. Rated: 4/5 Mar 3, 2023 Full Review Kevin Wight The Wee Review There’s a doom-laden sense of contemporary urgency and narrative inevitability at play that give the film a temporally dislocated sense of propulsion. It’s akin to watching a car crash in slow motion. And it’s impossible to look away.
