Q J @Q_Jackson Mar 17 This film is a feel-good watch. It features strong performances all around. The three leads (Chris Heeder, Jamie Lien, and Alek Kristopher) show incredible depth and humor and carry the story well. Alfred Molina's turn as the recently retired, Italy obsessed father brings gravitas and heart to the film; despite his repeated humorous agitation at the mishaps of the leads, Molina delivers a performance that makes us all wish we had a dad like him. Mindy Sterling and William Katt turn up for a memorable, charming midpoint heart-to-heart with Ty, adding color and depth. The film is written and directed well by Ryan Patrick Welsh (who also appears in the film as Griff). The film sticks its landing with an ending that feels earned, heartfelt, and satisfying. It's the type of film that has me wanting to call my loved ones just to remind them that I love them. It's a small film, and a simple story, but pulls us in and endears us to the characters regardless. Highly recommend.  See more Corbin S. @Corbs1110 Mar 10 This is a fun, quaint little road trip movie that really sneaks up on you. Knowing it was made on a small budget makes it even more impressive, because the film carries a lot of heart and sincerity without trying to be bigger than it is. The chemistry between the two leads, Chris Heeder and Alek Kristopher, really drives the story. Their back-and-forth feels natural and easy, which makes the journey enjoyable to watch. It also helps that the film brings in some great supporting players like Alfred Molina, William Katt, and Mindy Sterling. Seeing those familiar faces pop up adds a surprising amount of warmth and weight to the story. At its core, this is just a feel-good road trip film about people figuring out life and showing up for each other along the way. It’s simple, sincere, and clearly made with a lot of care. If you enjoy smaller indie films with a hopeful message and strong character chemistry, this one is definitely worth checking out. It’s an easy watch that leaves you feeling a little brighter by the end. See more Read all reviews
