william e Watch it for cute people. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member 1984: Four college girlfriends take off for Ft. Lauderdale for spring break, in search of fun, sun, and boys (not necessarily in that order). This is a remake of the same named movie from 1960. The usual antics abound, no real surprises here. There is more language and slight nudity in this remake (though still tame by 1980's standards, in comparison). The film is good-looking and the music is fun, but the characters are pretty sophomoric and the story isn't strong. Time passer. Stars: Lisa Hartman, Lorna Luft, Wendy Schaal, Lynn-Holly Johnson, and Russell Todd. Look for Christopher McDonald as one of Todd's buddies. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member The original 1960 movie was creative, innovative, and fun. It also had much better music and a more realistic feel. This re-make was a real dud, not representative of college break, and falling far short of the original. The acting in the re-make was amateurish, particularly when compared to the MGM A-listers who starred in the original. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the lesser 80's romps, that could've used better music. It is helped by mostly decent and charismatic actors. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review alex k My Favorite Comedy Film Is 1933's Duck Soup. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a film that I have very fond memories of because it showed in re-runs on our local Fox affiliate before they had enough original programming to fill up a day of shows, and this was on incessantly. Light '80s era fluff about young girls looking for love on spring break, but still has its cutesy buts and holds up for what it is. Rental?
