Anna Smith Guardian A decent watch for the genre, with suspense and a promising turn from rising star McIntosh. Rated: 3/5 Sep 4, 2014 Full Review Sophie Monks Kaufman Little White Lies Forgettable. Rated: 1/5 Sep 4, 2014 Full Review Nigel Floyd Time Out This rural 'home invasion' movie is gussied up with topical nods to the Scottish independence debate - but horror fans on both sides of the border are likely to vote no. Rated: 2/5 Sep 3, 2014 Full Review Cleaver Patterson CineVue The underlying premise of this film is nothing new... however, the subject is given a topical twist, considering the possible tensions which may arise as the vote on Scottish independence draws near. Rated: 3/5 Apr 3, 2019 Full Review Naila Scargill Exquisite Terror Pollyanna McIntosh singlehandedly carries the film, but all good work is undone with a crude final act, leading to a laughable climax. Feb 28, 2019 Full Review Yago García Cinemanía (Spain) White Settles has little to offer. [Final review in Spanish] Rated: 2/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews

Tony k Suspenseful, I was on edge for quite a bit of the film Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Michael C Plenty of suspense and some good acting but the story is rather confusing. Why are the men wearing pig masks terrorising the crap out of this young couple ?? And WHY is it called white settlers !! It's not a western !!! Don't waste your time watching this film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/23 Full Review stevie S I feel an uncontrollable perverse bias towards this film; it left me feeling odd on the whole. I live in Scotland and am a native. I understand what the director was trying to do, however i'm in two minds whether he was trying to paint Scots as animalistic racists or just trying to raise awareness of our pride and aggressive protectiveness of our homeland. It was a good watch, the husband played a very snarky character at the beginning of the film which leads me to believe the director was aiming for the former. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/08/23 Full Review Janette D Bad acting, bad script Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/23 Full Review martin a This is a really good film and tells the story of two English people who buy a large farmhouse in Scotland that they are informed locals cannot afford. After they have moved in strange things start to happen and the horror story unfolds. The acting was sharp with a great cast and excellent filming locations, A gem not to be missed. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Lame in every way, dire script, stage school acting, laughable premise, weakest of endings. It did end though, which goes in its favour. How does something like this get made? Who would put up money for this? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
