I really wanted to turn the film off after the first fifteen minutes, but curiosity got the better of me. The acting isn’t great, and it looks like it was filmed on a shoestring budget—maybe they broke into a kid’s piggy bank. But the story… this crime story deserves to be watched all the way to the end credits. The twists and ironies have got me thinking about a rewatch in the near future. Two drug-addicted, dirt-poor families on a quest to kill each other after the death of a child. Don’t do what I did! I let the movie play in the background while I googled unrelated stuff. Yes, a movie made on pennies on top of a "few" dollars, worth watching despite the meh acting—it’s worth the "sacrifice"! Best movie I have seen in the line of "In Cold Blood" (1967), "Blood Simple" (1984)—mentioned on the movie—and "Fargo" (1996). There is some amateur acting that feels a bit contrived but only by minor characters and the storyline is preserved in spite of it. It has a Fargo meets Winter’s Bone feel.
