Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity. Under the instruction of Madame Morrible (Oscar® winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda is deployed to serve as an effervescent comfort to Oz, reassuring the masses that all is well under the rule of The Wizard. As Glinda's stardom expands and she prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Olivier award winner and Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey) in a spectacular Ozian wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. She attempts to broker a conciliation between Elphaba and The Wizard, but those efforts will fail, driving Elphaba and Glinda only further apart. The aftershocks will transform Boq (Tony nominee Ethan Slater) and Fiyero forever, and threaten the safety of Elphaba's sister, Nessarose (Marissa Bode), when a girl from Kansas comes crashing into all their lives. As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Taking one last lap down the yellow brick road, Wicked: For Good's darker tone and unhurried pacing sometimes get in the way, but this epic conclusion ultimately brings Elphaba and Glinda's story home in rousing fashion.

Overloaded with action and extras and garish CGI sets and songs that float by mellifluously without ever lodging in your head that the movie all but short-circuits itself. Go to Full Review

One thing you can do, or a lot of things that you can do in film with this narrative, you can't do on stage. And this is a movie musical lover's movie. Go to Full Review

A thoughtful and well-crafted ending to the two-part adaptation. It doesn’t fix every issue embedded in the musical’s second act, but it improves emotional clarity and gives the characters more dimension. Go to Full Review

Wicked: For Good rightly suggests that what frightens us more than loss or physical harm is the evil deep within ourselves. Go to Full Review

Nothing in this world feels fleshed out, especially the characters, whose actions often feel arbitrary rather than purposeful. The clumsiness leads to convolution, making it a difficult movie to sit through. Go to Full Review

I’ve watched it in theaters twice and I want to go again!! Love it!! See more Burnell G 4h Wasnt my favorite. Again about 30 minutes to an hour too long. It took the entire movie to get to the good stuff and it wasnt that necessary. All the songs etc. they need to cut it in half. I did like Glenda in the last 5-10 minutes. See more Shameeka 5h I enjoyed the movie the kids were very much so engaged and I couldnt have done without the help of Emmanuel he helped me from the beginning to the end and customer service goes a long way and he accelerated and went above and beyond to make my experience great.
