I read this book a few years back - this movie matched up pretty well to my memory of the book. I found myself wondering what exactly might lead someone to do the PCT on their own with minimal training and/or experience. I know that she had a lot of help on the trail and that in all honesty was a burden to others (according to some stories that came out after all of this). But logistics aside, this is a great story. It takes a lot of courage to do something this difficult, and it is pretty inspiring to do it alone.

A tale of someone who has had a difficult life. This is a poignant film that is well directed and acted, and has something to say. Good outdoor scenery. It's not perfect. While I am not unsympathetic, it falls short in answering why we should care.
