Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online But despite its unclear message, there is a certain charm to Wild that smooths away its thorny exterior to reveal a broken character... Rated: C+ Sep 1, 2017 Full Review Jason Bailey Flavorwire For all of the trouble 'Wild' takes to get into Strayed's head, you'd think they might've drafted filmmakers with a little bit more experience living in a place like that. Jun 7, 2016 Full Review David Sims The Atlantic It captures an emotional memoir without making it feel like a didactic tale of triumph over adversity. Oct 14, 2015 Full Review Benjamín Harguindey EscribiendoCine As usual, Witherspoon is fearless, headstrong, and tireless. Hough Vague Visages Reese Witherspoon gives an Oscar-worthy performance in Wild, and the cinematography is beautiful, however Vallée’s tight direction prevents the film from becoming a “connect the dots” of emotion and redemption. Lukas K Yeah It's a great movie about a great story. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review Carlos H Wild gives us one of Resse Witherspoon's best performances, if not the best of her career. The direction and script are incredible, and the photography is beautiful, being a fundamental part of telling the story of Reese's character overcoming. Who has never wanted to abandon everything and embark on a journey of discovery, or rediscovery, in the midst of nature? During the film, we literally follow the character step by step towards the challenge imposed by herself, while scenes from the past are revealed, so that we can understand the reason for such a sacrifice. Several scenes were impactful, for me, however, the most touching, without a doubt, was the one in which a little boy walking through the forest sings a song, when he comes across the character of Reese. Without a doubt, an intimate, touching and powerful film, which is worth watching and rewatching. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/24 Full Review Christine C Beauty. This movie highlights the beauty of the journey of life and how we should learn to appreciate the bad and the good of what happens to us. Life is short and we grow from it All. Reese is fantastic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/05/24 Full Review Alec B Witherspoon gives her best performance in years here, it's just too bad the film is mostly conventional as it lays out it's thesis statement a little too clearly through unnecessary voice over and flashbacks. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/13/23 Full Review Ron P One of the reasons America is great is because you can make many bad decisions in your life and still come out on top because of those bad decisions (including undertaking an 11-hundred mile hike alone). That being stated, I did enjoy the movie. Great job by star and director and the scenery was pretty good too. I just couldn't find any empathy for the lead character. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Aaron S I don't necessarily think that Wild hits quite the emotional high that it sets out to, but it's a very enjoyable movie with a good sense of the feeling that adventure provides. It's a beautifully shot movie and Witherspoon is really good here. Nothing spectacular, but certainly worth my time. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
