Tony Award nominee Thomas Sadoski spent the first 15 years of his career in the theater world before moving on to the screen with key roles in "The Newsroom" (HBO, 2012-14), "Wild" (2014) and the sitcom "Life in Pieces" (CBS, 2015-). Born in New Haven, CT, in 1976 but raised in College Station, TX, Sadoski briefly attended the University of North Texas before transferring to New York's Circle in the Square Theatre School. He began his stage career in the same year he graduated, serving as Mark Ruffalo's understudy in Kenneth Lonergan's 1998 production of "This Is Our Youth." Sadoski would spend most of the following decade on the off-Broadway circuit but occasionally ventured into film and TV. After making his screen debut playing Jason Biggs' obnoxious roommate Chris in high school comedy "Loser" (2000), he showed up in low-key indie dramas "Happy Hour" (2003) and "Winter Solstice" (2004), portrayed Cpl. Richard Mundy in the adaptation of William March's WWI novel "Company K" (2004), and made several appearances in the "Law and Order" (NBC, 1990-2010) franchise. In 2007, he enjoyed a seven-episode stint as Jesse Calhoun on daytime soap opera "As the World Turns" (CBS, 1956-2010), and a year later played drug addict Felix in Generation Y drama "The New 20" (2008). Sadoski's stage career reached new heights in 2009 when he was nominated for a Tony Award for his lead role in Neil LaBute's "reasons to be pretty," as did his TV career when he was cast as straight-talking news producer Don Keefer in Aaron Sorkin's TV news drama "The Newsroom" (HBO, 2012-14). During his three-year run on the show Sadoski also appeared in romantic comedies "30 Beats" (2012) and "Take Care" (2014), starred as Reese Witherspoon's former husband Paul in Cheryl Strayed biopic "Wild" (2014) and played Officer Jimmy in the vengeful action movie "John Wick" (2014). Sadoski later returned for its 2017 sequel. He also starred as the father of slapping victim Hugo in the US version of "The Slap" (NBC, 2015), played Sarah Silverman's married lover Donny in mental illness drama "I Smile Back" (2015) and showed up in indie movie "The Dramatics: A Comedy" (2015). Sadoski ventured into sitcom territory when he was cast as recently-divorced middle child Matt in "Life in Pieces" (CBS, 2015-) before starring alongside future wife Amanda Seyfried as radio DJ Robin Sands in odd couple comedy-drama "The Last Word" (2017).
