SICKS6SIX S 50% from me, it's not good, it's not bad, It hasn't aged well, the acting right from scene one is poor at best terrible at worst, A very predictable storyline, some good actors all having an off day together, Burton, Harris, Moore, Kruger, Director: Andrew V. McLaglen. no expense spare Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/20/23 Full Review Biker B The Wild Geese, and The Dogs of War, are the two greats on the subject matter! The Wild Geese was filmed with hero and legend Col. Mike "Mad Mike" Hoare and it shows! Legendary movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review Jason S Great action pack movie with an all-star cast of great actors, long forgotten, and what has now become a sea of mediocrity in the theaters. Richard Burton, Roger Moore, Richard Harris, and Hardy Krüger. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/17/23 Full Review Jeffrey L Grows on you over time. Exciting, action-packed, impeccable cast (Roger Moore, Richard Burton, Richard Harrism, Hardy Kruger..) memorable characters and locations. Also, it has a touch of realism. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/30/23 Full Review Robert W Any movie with Richard Burton is worth a watch. And the enjoyable action adventure is no exception. Inspired by the real life mercenary Col Mad Mike Hoare. - He is also a technial consultant on the film - It tells the tail of.mercenary unit hired to rescue a deposed African leader before he is executed by his political rivals. The story may not play well with modern sensitivities regarding language and stereo types but if you can move past that you will find an enjoyable action adventure with an excellent theme song by Joan Armatrading and of course Richard Burton. Bob Thomas Associated Press The Wild Geese is a crackerjack adventure in the Navarone tradition -- wry, involving, suspenseful. Jul 17, 2019 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Each actor seems to be trying to make it clear to us that he holds the screenplay in more contempt than the other two. Rated: 1/4 Jun 16, 2018 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com '...with big stars and explosive action, The Wild Geese is fondly remembered today, even if the political content is obscured...' Rated: 4/5 Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See "The Wild Geese" watches like a precursor to "The Expendables", following a gang of mercenaries played by high-profile British actors of the age.
