Audience Member The concept wasn't terrible (ancient indian vamp) - but the script and especially the makeup and special effects were so lame, it landed in razzie land. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member A wet fart of a movie Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Two stars for Zane's eyebrows being on fleek. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Suffering from a lead that has the charisma of a bowl of wet porridge and every cliche in the book, Wind Walkers is almost unwatchable. The myth of the Wind Walkers has the potential to be a great psychological thriller, but unfortunately the film throws out any of the logic associated with it in the first half hour in favour of a groan inducing, half baked zombie film. You see everything coming a mile off and the plot holes are so large the rest of the film is swallowed up by them. The best characters are killed off too soon, leaving us the cold porridge and his over earnest girlfriend. By the end, my eyes hurt from all the rolling and I couldn't get out of the theatre long enough. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Best part of the film is Zane Holtz performance. He sure knows how to play a psychotic. Film was confusing and not scary. It was not terrible just not that good. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Wind Walkers is an interesting horror movie, in that it doesn't rely too much on gore to scare. Yes, there are gory scenes but most of the frights generated is in the "what will happen next?" mode. The movie has a strong cast: Rudy Youngblood, of Apocolypto fame, again shows his acting "chops" (inside joke) and Zane Holtz has a definite Michael-Shannon-esque moodiness and menace. Set in the Everglades, the movie follows a returning war vet and his friends as they go hunting in the wilderness. The truly intense interaction between the actors is what helps build suspense. The cast is quite stellar, and the writing holds it all together while the plot unfolds. All in all, this was a fresh take on the horror genre, with a great cast and writing/direction by Russell Friedenberg. Very worth watching! Carolyn Mauricette Cinema Axis Though it does not always succeed in its goal, the cool creature effects and tense emotions are worth checking out.
