Allan C Not to be confused with WITCHBOARD, this corny Full Moon Features Charles Band production has its usual charms, even if it's not up to the levels of PUPPET MASTER, TRANCERS, or OBLIVION. In the town of Dunwich, Massachusetts, a group of unsuspecting guests are invited to a party by a mysterious host who happens to be the descendent of a 300-year-old witch. From director David DeCoteau, a man who got his start directing gay porn and who now makes Hallmark Channel-style Christmas films (and sometimes Lifetime thrillers), you can guess the quality of filmmaking you're in for. It is far from the best Full Moon film, but it's hardly the worst and was apparently successful enough to spawn two sequels, which I haven't seen, WITCHHOUSE II: BLOOD COVEN and WITCHHOUSE 3: DEMON FIRE. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/03/23 Full Review R P So basically, Witchouse is Full Moon Entertainment's rip-off of 1988's Night of the Demons. The movie is not a complete copy but the whole vibe feels like it. Even the Demon Lilith in this movie looks a lot like possessed Angela. Unfortunately I enjoyed Night of the Demons over this movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Typical teen characters with a typical Full Moon plot. The run time is short enough to handle the slow pacing. The make-up is decent, and there's some campy effects. Otherwise it ends up feeling generic and unappealing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member A real piece of crap, Witchouse features horrible acting, terrible cinematography, cheap special effects, and a plot as derivative as plots can get. Nevertheless, it is a reasonably entertaining piece of garbage for those who--like myeslf--enjoy such things... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member While still filled with terrible acting, Witchouse sticks to the KISS premise (keep it simple stupid) and delivers a straight forward story with plenty of good monster makeup FX to please fans. It's no wonder the film has branched out into several sequels. The concept of a witch house and the horrors it possesses is filled with possibilities. If you're into schlocky low budget horror movies, this is probably right up your alley. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
