Jeff M A very interesting thing happened while watching this documentary. The first half or so is your basic crime procedural with interviews with the police, the loved ones of the victims, the people who knew the accused, etc. But as the film went on, I became more and more enthralled - not necessarily with the events themselves but with the ethical and moral questions that filled my mind. And particularly with an interview of the man who did the actual murders - he refreshingly admits to what he did, doesn't try to assign blame elsewhere and comes across as extremely level headed considering the crimes he committed. While I obviously don't condone what he did, it got me thinking about the whole criminal justice system. Your reaction to this documentary will most certainly be influenced by your thoughts on capital punishment and the criminal justice system. And I'm still on the fence about what I think about Charity herself, her involvement in the crime and what transpires afterwards. A seemingly simple documentary suddenly flooded me with all kinds of things to think about - my mind hasn't been in hyperdrive like this for a long time. Opinions will surely be divisive as to whether justice prevailed, but the movie itself is intense and thought provoking. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/11/24 Full Review Read all reviews
